Good news

The Circuit Meeting was held on Monday 20th July — this was rounded off with Good News from each of the churches represented there. Here is a quick rundown of the reports...

Aldbrough — report that they have a new Bible reader.

Hutton Cranswick — more than 40 people, aged 2 to 90, attended the recent Memorial Service where people brought flowers and candles as they remembered loved ones who had been lost during the pandemic. Two trees were planted and the experience was noted as being 'uplifting'.

Hornsea — a new bereavement support group are using the premises; it was felt that this was a positive way forward for the community.

The Wolds — a new screen and projector has been installed, as well as a new amplification system.

Driffield — two adults would be baptised soon. Members are having meetings to plan prayers and to decide how they want the Church to move forward. Worship on Wednesdays is doing well, especially for those who work on Sundays. As from 1st July, Dr Richard Gorski will take on the role of Driffield's Family Worker.

Lund — a strong connection with the Anglican Church has been established.

Nafferton — the Bible Study group would be starting up again in September; formally this was a house group, but from now on they will meet in the Church. The renovation plans are being sent out to tender very shortly. Sarah had been awarded the 'Make a Difference Award' for her work during the pandemic. This award for community heroes has been organised by BBC Radio Hull and she will formally receive her award on 30th September when she enjoys afternoon tea at Hull Minster. Well done Sarah! You are an inspiration to us all!
