Richard with Pampers

Welcome Richard and Sue! If you weren't able to come to Rev Richard Teal's Welcome Service at Nafferton on Sunday 1st September, then you missed a real treat.
The front pews were filled with civic dignitaries and Church leaders from various denominations all keen to meet and greet Richard and his wife Sue.
Rev Robert Amos opened our worship and handled a dodgy amplification system with grace, quick thinking, and humour (why does it always happen on special occasions)? Hey-ho.
Rev Leslie Newton, Chairman of the District, gave an inspiring address based on the readings John 6: 1-13, and Romans 12: 1-13. He focused on the word 'ALL' — a small, and yet gigantic word. Jesus fed 'ALL', and gave his love for 'ALL'.
Rev Richard Teal had brought along a bright, shiny, sparkly bag, which had been made up by a former colleague. It held a set of 'L' plates — because he had much to learn and re-learn (don't we all) a set of 'Good Boy' stickers, a 'Back to School' pencil case, and besides other items, a packet of Pampers (don't ask)!
But Oh! Let me tell you about the singing. Oh! Such joy! We raised the rafters with old favourites such as 'And can it be' and rattled along with the syncopated rhythm of 'Sing to the Lord's goodness'.
After final blessings, the celebration then moved down to Nafferton Village Hall for tea and cake, what else?!
Many blessings, Margaret Preece
P.S. If you have any photos you would like to share, please let me have them and I post them on the website. Thank you.
